Ship Transit / transporter-room

Narrator BOT 22-Apr-23 04:07 PM
Immediately upon their arrival, the away teams were met with an uneasy, heavy atmosphere of this battered, dead Warbird - the lights were dim, the floor and walls corroded with the black and green metal of Borg, and a couple of bodies were lying by the transporter pad's stairs and the console in a curious formation. It was also deathly quiet, save for the vessel's somber humming... (edited)

As soon as Aoife materialised she switched into 'away mission' mode. She turned on the torch in her rifle and went about securing the room.

Austin hadn't had a good feeling before he came here and now he really didn't have a good feeling about things. He had a healthy fear of the Borg. He decided to check the bodies for borg assimilation. It would be awfully odd for them not be assimilated given the borgs MO but they had in the past. He pulled out one of his phasers and kept it pointed at one of the bodies as he inspected it.

Lieutenant Eshen K'Tann | CMD BOT 22-Apr-23 04:16 PM
Eshen scanned the body with the tricorder they'd probably been given with the standard set of Trek gadgetry: phaser, tricorder, dermal regenerator.

The bodies belonged to Romulans, evident by the visual indicators like the pointed ears and the forehead ridges. Curiously, they did not bear any traces of being assimilated by the Borg - no prosthetics, no associated discoloration or scars, nothing - except for the rather aggressive looking stab wounds. There was also another peculiar detail...

Lt. JG. Saren tr'Lareth-Morvar | SCI BOT 22-Apr-23 04:22 PM
"Shiar uniforms," Saren stated quietly, all too matter-of-factly, as he peeked at the dead bodies over Eshen's shoulder. "Low-ranks, judging by the grey." The atmosphere was both like hell and home - this was so similar yet nothing like Azmuth, the Dhelan he had lived on for a good couple of years. The glaring black of the Borg corruption, decorating the room like some angry burn marks, wasn't helping either.

Lt. JG. Allan Allen | ENG BOT 22-Apr-23 04:24 PM
While Eshen was checking the bodies with the tricorder, Allan went over to the transporter room's console to see if it was operational at all - if it was, he would try to see if there were any logs of the most recent activities that'd taken place here before they arrived.

Lieutenant Eshen K'Tann | CMD BOT 22-Apr-23 04:26 PM
Wait. Could it be? "Is this all actually part of some Tal Shiar plot? Oh, if only Renakir were here right now." Despite his attempt at levity, he put a hand on Saren's shoulder, the one he'd rolled. This was more personal for him.

"We should try and find the bridge, we're probably not gonna find much in the transporter room." Aoife chimed in, she didn't much like staying in the one place for too long. "There's gotta be logs on the bridge so we can figure out what happened here."
Avatar
Narrator BOT 22-Apr-23 04:35 PM
The logs that Allan pulled out were a bit corrupted - either from the Borg influence, or the fight, or both - but what he could conclude from them, is that the last known log before their one, counted 13 humanoid lifeforms boarding the ship. That has happened some time ago from now - unfortunately, the precise dates were unknown, due to the aforementioned corruption. (edited)

Saren, despite himself, blurted out a laugh: "Might as well be?.. Oh, yes, Renakir would love this. Can't lie, some part of me is glad that he's not here to witness this." The physical gesture was appreciated, and reciprocated in a gentle clench of his fingers around Eshen's wrist. He looked at officer O'Rielly then: "Perhaps with three separate teams... we could try and scout out the bigger area, if we want to get the full picture. The singularity core comes to mind... the ship did perform a jump, after all."

Ensign Aurisk | CMD BOT 22-Apr-23 04:42 PM
Upon materializing, Aurisk was immediately taken aback with how quiet it was. The normally comforting hum of the ship now felt... eerie with nothing else to accompany it. They stepped off the pad to inspect a few of the bodies, the sounds of their steps echoing around the room, noticing none of them seemed to have any traces of Borg. As Aoife and Saren spoke, they nodded in agreement.

They stiffened impossibly further the second they rematerialized, taking a deep breath and letting it out through their nose as they followed the Lieutenant Commander they'd been assigned to. Studying the body along with him. "No sign of assimilation whatsoever?" they mumbled, brows furrowed. "Maybe they managed to take it down.. strength in numbers?" Five looked around. Was the body of the Borg around here? (edited)

Narrator BOT 22-Apr-23 04:48 PM
The body of the Borg was not around here - only the three uhlans, who had all met their fate in a seemingly violent manner.

Lt. JG. Allan Allen | ENG BOT 22-Apr-23 04:48 PM
"Yeah, logs elsewhere might be a bit more..." he spoke as he continued to go through the logs, but with the times being corrupted there wasn't all too much to go off of here. "All the ones here are pretty corrupted, and it seems to be affecting mostly the times..? I think? The last log before us shows 13 beaming onboard, but it's totally unclear of when." He paused, then looked back to the group. "I could try and fix the corruption here but it's probably best to just come back, maybe there's somewhere where the files aren't so fucked up."

Hal, who had totally been there the whole time, looked around the room. The bodies were there, of course. Of course there were bodies. Why WOULDN’T there be bodies, she thought. Very dead, violently dead. Well, at least they didn’t die from a disease. That was good, since that meant less work for her. The lack of Borg Body concerned her. But at least the dead Romulans weren’t Borg-ified.

SCPO. Five of Eight | OPS BOT 22-Apr-23 04:58 PM
All the bodies were by the stairs... "I think they were trying to escape," Five murmured, kneeling down by one of the bodies before they stood. They searched for any weapon nearby, just in case they could get any DNA off it or something. (edited)

Lieutenant Aoife O'Rielly | TAC BOT 22-Apr-23 05:00 PM
"So who's going where?" Aoife asked, still not super keen on staying in the one place for too long. "We've got to cover the bridge, the singularity core and we can cover a third site any ideas?"

SCPO. Five of Eight | OPS BOT 22-Apr-23 05:01 PM
"There may be more information on the ship's crew in the medical bay," he tried, hopefully helpfully.

The formation of the bodies did suggest that the uhlans were on or near the stairs - however it was hard to decipher if they were descending, or ascending them. The stiff grimaces on their faces suggested anger, or determination, or... surprise, maybe?

Lt. JG. Saren tr'Lareth-Morvar | SCI BOT 22-Apr-23 05:03 PM
"I suggest we see which parts of the ship are actually accessible," Saren suggested. "Then we can determine what we can or cannot visit." The Romulan then tapped his commbadge to let the captain of the Eventide know that they've heard and understood her.

"Sounds like a plan," Five agreed, ignoring the knot his stomach had tied itself into, "How would we go about doing that?"

Lieutenant Aoife O'Rielly | TAC BOT 22-Apr-23 05:06 PM
"We could try and boot up the internal sensors from here." Aoife suggested, gesturing to the transporter console.

[Comms] "Other Captain tuning in. Just gonna let you know when we scanned the ship before, there was only one Borg lifesign. Everything else was Romulan. I have a feelin' they might have been fuckin' around with things they shouldn't have and it got outta control, so there might be somethin' interestin' in science, maybe." (edited)

"We could do that, or... hm. Captain..s, is there a way for you to check which areas of the Kinaen are accessible to us? Where the life support systems are still online, that is," he asked. "As I came to understand, the science sector is accessible, but what about the other ones? Just want to make sure."

Captain Gylea Worahino | NPC BOT 22-Apr-23 05:26 PM
[Comms] "Yes, I believe we already have that information, actually. Give me a second."

Captain Gylea Worahino | NPC BOT 22-Apr-23 05:42 PM
[Comms] "The accessible areas are: the area around singularity in the engineering; the intensive care in medical; the computer and physics labs; the armoury in the security; and the bridge. The life support also seems to be active in the adjacent chief offices, as well as the commander's room."

"Perhaps they're fixable?" he mused, taking a look at the exit to the corridors. "We can go and check... and then decide who goes where. Do we all agree on this?"

"These boots are made for walkin." Aoife siad gesturing to the excursion uniforms boots. The classic song was now going through her head too.

"Alizati can help with that too!" Eshen said. Hey, just because their roleplayer was offline it didn't mean Alizati couldn't be useful.

If no objections followed, the teams could move on to checking the turbolifts!
